Woolnut was founded in Stockholm late October 2012 by three friends with backgrounds in design engineering and product development. With a genuine interest in tech, new gadgets and modern craftmanship, it quickly got clear that most of the existing protection covers and sleeves for laptops lacked the combination of using genuine materials together with simplistic and functional shapes – in a traditional and stylish way.
On these bases, the first version of a Woolnut protection cover was crafted one late night in a Stockholm apartment. After a few weeks of tweeking and shaping the cover into perfection, a decision was made to take this new fantastic product to market. The Woolnut brand was born.
Woolnut creates protection sleeves in genuine materials of wool and leather. The leather is genuine full-grain vegetable tanned leather, which is the best quality leather to be found. The grain remains, allowing the fiber strength and durability. The grain also has breathability, resulting in less moisture from prolonged contact. Rather than wearing out, it will develop a patina over time which make each and every Woolnut sleeve unique.
The wool is 100% natural wool felt. Woolnut covers are of the type slip-in sleeve, meaning there are no excess parts such as pocket flaps, zippers, or brand tags to complicate comfort and user friendliness. Our signature design is a slick and minimalistic shape with maximum functionality – available in cognac brown leather in combination with grey wool felt and black leather in combination with grey wool felt. The Woolnut covers are available for the entire Apple MacBook Series.
Woolnut protection covers are made with an exterior in genuine full-grain vegetable tanned leather for best durability and an interior in 100% real wool felt to guarantee high-quality and a long lifetime. Leather shields – wool breathes. The cover may feel a little bit tight when it is new but don´t worry – it´s supposed to. Due to the natural materials it will soon loosen up to get that perfect fit.
Furthermore, any small blemishes or subtle variations in color or veining are typical characteristics for full-grain vegetable tanned leather and should therefore not be considered as imperfections but rather something that makes each and every cover unique and personal. To preserve the original quality of the products, avoid exposure to extreme heat and damp, periodically clean the leather with a soft cloth and clean the wool lining by the use of a lint-roller or cleaning tape.
